Nebraska farmers looking for relief from crop damage by deer may have some relief in the future. A bill introduced would allow farmers early access to hunt their own property up to a week early and allow 4 deer to be taken. Those farmers must open their land for public use in exchange for the early tags. Detractors of the bill are citing an unfair advantage for the farmers getting a week head start. Archers are upset at the proposal because it would cut their season. More opposition comes from Nebraska Game and Parks throwing out a figure of 15.6 million in lost revenue. While also needing to hire additional manpower to ensure proper compliance.
