There is no hunting in the Grand Teton National Park. So when rangers found blood they investigated. What they found was a potential wolf kill site. That prompted them to check with Wyoming Game and Fish officials and discovered a hunter had checked in a wolf according to law.

That hunter, Brian Taylor, a guide in the area had killed the wolf but was unknowingly in park territory. Taylor and his wife were both cooperative in the investigation and investigators believe there was no intent to hunt in the park. Taylor was fined $5,040, lost his wolf hunting rights for 1 year and is on unsupervised probation. The charges brought against his wife were dropped.
