Wildlife groups recently petitioned the EPA to ban sodium cyanide. The EPA denied those requests. Cyanide is used by agencies across the US to kill coyotes and other predators that harm livestock. Numerous non-target animals, including a collared wolf and an adult man, have died from the use of M-44 cyanide canisters. The EPA stated that no new substantial information has been presented and will release its regular report by the end of 2018.
