The Arizona Game & Fish Department is now offering a new Ethical Hunting online course. This Ethical Hunting course was developed over the last two years. The main purpose of the course was to provide hunters with an alternative way to earn their lifetime bonus point.
It also puts less strain on the Arizona hunter education system. Hunter education courses have been slowed greatly during the pandemic. This Ethical Hunting course gives older hunters another option to gain their lifetime bonus point without hindering the hunter education system.
However, AZGFD points out this course doesn’t take the place of hunter education.
“You have to have hunter education to hunt between the ages of 10 and 14 in the state. This course was devised to alleviate some of the pressure that the course gets for people seeking a bonus only. We’re just now being able to get back into the swing of things within the past five or six months. I know Williams specifically, we have a group that is going to be standing up some classes starting (in November) so you guys should see some relief from that.” – Arizona Game & Fish Hunting, and Shooting Sports Manager, Tim Talbott
According to AZGFD, this class will cost $300 for non-residents and $150 for residents. The course must be completed 30 days before the big game draws for the bonus point to be applied to your application.
