Coyotes are causing quite a stir across the nation. The adaptable canine is increasing in numbers across the country. From the streets of NYC to the cotton fields of Arizona, population management is vital. A lawmaker in South Carolina is leading the way for coyote management. State Senator Stephen Goldfinch has introduced a bill that will pay hunters $75 bounty per coyote.

The funds for the bounty will come at a 1 dollar increase per hunting license. With a population estimate of over 350,000 dogs, Goldfinch says “I think it’s time for hunters and other sportsmen to go to war with coyotes, and there has to be some incentive to keep them engaged.”

Getting paid to hunt is something most of us dream about. Now it might just become a reality. Do you see any problems with this bill?
