GRIZZLY HUNT IN WYOMING PASSES

Wyoming’s lawmakers have passed Senate File 93 which would allow grizzly bear hunting in the state. Governor Mark Gordon needs to put his John Hancock on the bill and it will become Law. The measure passed by a 52-7 vote in The House of Representatives.

Lawmakers showed a united front to defy U.S. District Judge Dana Christensen who ruled that the grizzly is still “threatened” under the ESA. Wyoming Game and Fish efforts to recover the predators were mentioned in the bill. Unwilling to make WYGF officials felons for violating federal law, the bill is worded with “may” instead of “shall”.

Senate File 93 also allows for grizzly relocation of problem bears to other states if necessary. Do you think this is a good idea?
