South Carolina lawmakers are introducing a bill to make hunters education mandatory for all hunters. Currently, any hunters born after June 30th, 1979 must take the class in order to purchase a license. The push for the bill is in regards for safety for all out in the field hunting. The course cost is $24.50 and is 8 hours long. The course not only covers firearm safety but also teaches hunters about wildlife.
