Longhorned tick found in Pennsylvania on a whitetail deer that was showing signs of Chronic Wasting Disease. The deer was caught and a single tick was recovered. The Longhorned tick is found in Southeast Asia and is unknown how it was introduced into North America. Longhorned tick infestations can be very harmful resulting in disease and sometimes death.
