A recent aerial survey by North Dakota Game and Fish has shown a rise in mule deer fawn recruitment. Fawn numbers were down in the Badlands following years of hard winters. The uptick in numbers started in 2013. NDGF had also banned doe hunts to continue to help the population grow, those restrictions are almost all lifted. More deer in the Badlands is good for North Dakota and sportsmen. Don’t write the badlands off when planning your next mule deer hunt.
