New Hampshire Fish and Game Department is struggling financially. The department is under scrutiny again after receiving 4.2 million from the state general fund since 2014. NHFG officials have increased fees to help with the shortfalls but the changes haven’t helped. Simply stated, the department offers too much for too little.
Some suggestions from a panel of 12 individuals from lawmakers to hunters included taxing kayak and canoe owners and billing the federal government for work done on federal lands by NHFG employees. You can read the official report here.
