Imagine living in a place where you can only hunt big game 6 days a week. That’s a reality in Pennsylvania. The states farm bureau opposes hunting on Sundays to give farmers, whose land is used for hunting, a day to relax. State reps and advocacy groups are fighting for Sunday hunting. Their argument is to increase license sales and recruit new hunters as older hunters phase out. What side of the fence are you on? Could you live in a place that doesn’t allow big game hunting one day a week?
A vast majority of hunters are what is often referred to as the “weekend warrior”. They work 9-5 jobs M-F and only have the weekends to hunt. Implementing this could drastically reduce the numbers in the field.
