You read about the elk pandemonium in Oregon recently, well the deer didn’t take kindly to that news. The deer are also overrunning cities and towns. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has an Urban Deer Population Plan that goes into effect January 2019. For cities to adopt the plan they would have to pass a few ordinances, 1 being that the deer are a nuisance and 2 an ordinance to make feeding deer illegal. ODFW is also looking into euthanizing deer after the ordinances pass. The plan also includes donating the meat to local food banks so the deer aren’t going to waste.
Have any other solutions been proposed in your urban hunting areas?
