The draw results are out and it is time to get that bow tuned in! This is an important time to tune and test your setup so you will have optimal results during hunting season. I was fortunate enough to receive a dozen arrows from Element Arrows to test. As I pulled them out of the box I was immediately impressed with their appearance, and I was excited to see if their performance matched.
Setup
I started by fletching them with Blazer Vane fletching. I did this with a 3 degree helical. I added Elements Stone inserts topped off with a 100-grain head.

Next, I weighed each arrow. They were all within half a grain of each other, which is a testament to their quality. Once they were built it was time to start testing! I started by dialing them in with my bow. I specifically wanted to test accuracy, strength, and speed.
Shooting
For accuracy these arrows did not disappoint! From the very first arrow they were spot on, and it didn’t matter if I was shooting from 20 yards or 60 yards. These arrows fly well and are very accurate.
Then I tested for speed. When I shot these arrows through a chronograph they measured at 290 FPS. I consider this a good hunting setup considering my other arrows shoot at 286 FPS.
The third and final test I put these arrows through was to determine their strength. I actually wanted to check penetration and strength at the same time, so I set up a 2×4 wooden plank in front of my target to use as a measuring stick. I let it fly at 10 yards. The arrow performed fairly well; the weak point was in the insert when it broke off. My field tip and insert stayed in the board. It penetrated 3/4 of the board but did not go through.
Consensus
I am impressed with the Element Fire and Ice arrows. I feel confident enough with them that I will be using them this hunting season. Element arrows have been in production less than a year, and with results like these I am excited to see what the future holds. These arrows are designed with the hunter in mind.
