WYOMING RAFFLING BISON TAG – Many hunters dream of that day when they can harvest a large bison. The bison tag is a long-sought-after tag amongst many hunters, especially across the west. For residents of Wyoming, there is again another opportunity to obtain one of these coveted tags.
Gordon Donates Tag
For the third year in a row, Wyoming is donating a bison tag to residents of the state. Governor Gordon is spearheading the initiative to improve wildlife conservation in the state, and he hopes to raise a lot of funds to help.
“The bison is the symbol of Wyoming and a fitting hunt to raise money for conservation,” Gordon said in a Tuesday announcement from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. “I am happy to once again offer this opportunity to residents who care so deeply for our wildlife.”
Proceeds from the raffle will go towards the Big Game Coalition in Wyoming.
How to Get the Tag
As stated above, the hunting license is only available to residents of the state of Wyoming. Starting July 16th, raffle tickets can be purchased on the Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s website for $10. The drawing will take place on July 28th, when the winner will be announced.
“Only Wyoming residents are able to purchase a raffle ticket, must be eligible to hunt big game in Wyoming and meet hunter education requirements. The wild bison license is non-transferable. Hopeful hunters should review the bison hunt areas on the Game and Fish website.” – Wyoming Game and Fish Department
This is an exciting opportunity for residents of Wyoming. We look forward to the person that wins this raffle.
Update August 2, 2021
The winner of the bison raffle tag has been announced. The winner of the 2021 bison tag is Michael Lenz of Alpine.
“I offer my congratulations to Michael and send my well-wishes to him for a successful hunt,” Governor Gordon said. “I want to thank all those who purchased a raffle ticket to support Wyoming’s spectacular wildlife.”
